My father was Dean of Stetson University where both Elsie and Louis Freund were artists in residence.  Elsie was the most elegant lady that I knew as a child.  Her hair was always in an upswept style and always with a bow.  I remember Louis at dinner one night where he was having a somewhat hot dish and he entertained me with the fact that a puddle would form on top of his balding head when he ate a spicy dish!!  Elsie's jewelry was coveted in our household.  My mother was a good friend of theirs along with my father.  I have a pretty big collection of her jewelry which I received from time to time as a reward for achievement.
